Easy Fruit Sorbet

Want a delightfully frozen fruit sorbet to finish a meal or add to a dessert? If you have an ice cream maker, you are only a couple of ingredients away from making sorbet from fresh or frozen fruit.



Ingredients
  • 3 cups water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 4 cups cantaloupe (chopped)

Steps to Make It

  1. Gather the ingredients.
  2. Bring 3 cups water and sugar just to a boil in a medium saucepan over high heat, stirring until sugar dissolves.

  3. Remove from heat. Cool.
  4. Process sugar syrup and fruit, in batches, in a blender or food processor until smooth.
  5. If the fruit variant you are using calls for fruit juice*, add it here.
  6. Cover and chill 2 hours.
  7. Pour mixture into the freezer container of a 1-gallon ice-cream maker, and freeze according to manufacturer's instructions.

Tips

  • Frozen sorbet will be best while it is fresh.
  • You can freeze it and enjoy it for a couple of weeks.
  • If it develops crystals, you may have let it go too long in the freezer and it may not be as enjoyable to eat. You could always heat it up to use as a warm fruit syrup instead, or mix it with yogurt and blend it into a smoothie.

Recipe Variations

  • Cantaloupe Sorbet: Use 4 cups chopped cantaloupe.
  • Cherry Sorbet: Use 1 (6-ounce) can frozen lemonade concentrate, prepared, and 1 (16-ounce) jar maraschino cherries. Strain and discard pulp, if desired.
  • Grapefruit Sorbet: Use 3 cups fresh grapefruit juice and 1 teaspoon chopped fresh mint.
  • Lemon/Lime Sorbet: Use 1/2 cup fresh lemon/lime juice and 2 teaspoons grated.
  • Orange Sorbet: Use 3 cups fresh orange juice and 2 teaspoons grated orange rind.lemon/lime rind.
  • Peach Sorbet: Use 5 cups fresh or frozen peaches and 2 tablespoons lemon juice.
  • Pineapple Sorbet: Use 2 cups chopped pineapple. Strain and discard the pulp after processing mixture in a blender, if desired.
  • Raspberry Sorbet: Use 5 cups fresh or frozen raspberries.
  • Strawberry Sorbet: Use 5 cups fresh or frozen strawberries and 2 tablespoons lemon juice.
  • Watermelon Sorbet: Use 4 cups chopped seedless watermelon and 1/4 cup lime juice.

This Mexican Street Style Grilled Cauliflower begins, well, with a new head of cauliflower! I cut it up into florets or you can likewise cut it into "steaks". Presently… let me simply state that I find that cauliflower "steaks" will in general self-destruct, so I selected the simple florets!

 

 Ingredients

  • 1 large head fresh cauliflower cut into florets
  • 3 Tbsp. olive oil
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp chili powder
  • ¼ tsp. paprika
  • ½ tsp. garlic powder

For the Sauce:

  • ¼ cup mayonnaise your favorite
  • ¼ cup sour cream
  • ¼ tsp. chili powder
  • ¼ tsp. cumin
  • 1-2 cloves garlic finely minced
  • ¼ tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. lime juice
  • 1/3 cup crumbled Cotija cheese
  • Garnish: Chopped Cilantro

Instructions
To cook the cauliflower:

  1. Preheat your grill to 375-400 degrees. Place the cauliflower florets into a disposable aluminum pan and season with salt, chili pepper, paprika and garlic. Drizzle with olive oil and toss to coat.
  2. Place pan on the grill and cook/smoke for 30-35 minutes (stirring occasionally) or until cauliflower is tender and has started to char are caramelize.

To cook your cauliflower in the oven:

  1. Bake at 400, stirring occasionally, for 30-35 minutes or until tender and the florets start to get nice and golden brown!

To make the crema:

  1. Combine the mayo and the next 6 ingredients into a bowl and stir to combine.

To assemble:

  1. After the cauliflower is done cooking, place the cauliflower on a platter or pan, drizzle with the crema and top with crumbled cotija cheese and garnish with chopped cilantro.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 10 rice papers wrappers
  • 200 g rice noodles

  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup butter melted
  • 1 small sweet onion finely diced
  • 2 cups shredded sharp white cheddar cheese divided
  • 1 8.5 oz box cornbread mix [Martha White or Jiffy]
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp dry mustard
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and butter a 7 x 11 inch (2 Quart) baking dish. Set aside.
  2. In a mixing bowl, mix collectively, the steamed broccoli, garlic-herb cheese spread, four eggs, melted butter and finely diced onion until blended.
  3. Upload 1 cup of cheddar cheese, cornbread mix and seasonings. Stir till blended.
  4. Pour into the organized dish and sprinkle the closing cheese on pinnacle.
